AVALANCHE RANCH LIGHT CO. CELEBRATES 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY ---Bellingham, WA, May 14, 2007
On August 14, 2007, Avalanche Ranch Light Company, located in Bellingham, Wash., celebrated its 10-year anniversary in the rustic lighting business and 10 years of
bringing together a unique combination of art and application of the modern production techniques to make one-of-a-kind products.
In conjunction with this anniversary, the company has released a new Product Catalog, offering more than 1,400 lights. This extensive selection makes Avalanche Ranch
the number one manufacturer and premier source of rustic lighting in the United States, with more products and more capabilities in this category than any other company.
From sconces to chandeliers, from outdoor lighting to bathroom lighting, Avalanche Ranch Light Company has something for anyone who enjoys the rustic lighting feel.
If a specific product cannot be found in the catalog, the company will custom make it for you.
The Avalanche Ranch Light Company grew out of founder’s desire to light up his lake cabin in 1995. Not able to find suitably rustic style lights at a local lighting store,
he created the first light that later became the first product for a small company known as Avalanche Ranch.
In 1997, Avalanche Ranch moved to Bellingham, Wash., and
began manufacturing hand-crafted rustic lighting out of steel. Today, the company employs over 25 people in a 24,000 square foot facility, where every step of the light-making
process takes place. These steps include: hand cutting images with a torch, hand bending backplates, welding, finishing, shade cutting and packaging.
In building this business, owner and primary designer Curt Roth has combined modern production techniques with traditional handiwork to produce something original.
He calls it a Craftory, with a focus toward designing and building quality products, keeping our customers happy and developing great employees.
“We’re creating designs that meet the needs of home owners from border-to-border, and mountains to oceans,” Roth says. “While drawing inspiration from the surroundings
of the Northwest, I seek to maintain the rustic qualities and northwoods motif of our products.”
Although the term “rustic” is used to describe the company’s lights, it refers to a style not the quality. All of the lights are thoughtfully designed for maximum functionality,
durability, ease of installation, and care.
“Our desire is to provide lighting products for our customers whose lifestyles reflect their love for the outdoors,” Roth says.
“I have tried to combine modern production methods with traditional handiwork in an effort to create something unique.”

AVALANCHE RANCH LIGHT CO. INTRODUCES BENTON SCONCE ---Bellingham, WA, August 14, 2007
The Avalanche Ranch Light Company announces its introduction of the Benton Sconce, a unique brand new light fixture, especially designed for the log home owner. It has a curved back making
it easy to mount on a log pole with an 8” to 14” diameter. Of course, it can just as easily be mounted to a standard flat wall, too.
Curt Roth, owner and primary designer of the company,
says he wanted to design a light specifically for a log home owner. “We sell mostly to log home owners,” Roth says. “One of the hardest places to hang a light fixture is on a single pole, so
I wanted to make a light that could easily fit to the large log poles typically found in today’s log homes.”
Aside from its curved back, the light features bulbs pointing upwards and downwards
behind a mica shade. The customer can choose between an almond mica or amber mica shade. The front of the light consists of either a plain steel front or a selection of six different front images
which are hand-cut in the steel. Images available include: Bison, Mountain, Mountain/Pine, Texas Star, or two southwest-inspired images, Pueblo and Del Rio. Customers can also provide their own
artwork for an extra charge.
This is the newest light designed by a company that has been creating quality rustic lighting for 10 years. The Avalanche Ranch Light Company is the #1 manufacturer
in the country for its style of lights. Currently offering around 1,500 different products ranging from sconces to chandeliers, from outdoor lighting to bathroom lighting, the Avalanche Ranch Light
Company has something for anyone who enjoys the rustic feel.
The company, started by Roth in 1997, employs over 20 people in a 24,000 square foot “craftory” in Bellingham, Wash. There, every
step of the light making process takes place, including: hand cutting images with a torch, hand bending backplates, welding, finishing, shade cutting and packaging.
The Benton Sconce is the
newest example of how the Avalanche Ranch Light Company continues to bring together a unique combination of art and application of modern production techniques to make one-of-kind products. The Benton
Sconce can be found on page 24 of the Avalanche Ranch Light Company’s 2007 product catalog.
